Electrochemical Degradation of Methylene Blue Using a Ni-Co-Oxide Anode

چکیده

The potential of using thermally prepared Ni0.6Co0.4-oxide for the electrochemical degradation organic contaminants was investigated methylene blue (MB) in an aqueous solution, as a model pollutant. results UV spectroscopy obtained during galvanostatic electrolyses at anode indicated complete removal dye. high chemical oxygen demand (COD) and total carbon (TOC) suggested level mineralization its intermediates. It found that electrocatalytic performance electrode anodic pollutant significantly enhanced by presence chloride ions solution. improvement rate MB attributed to situ electrogeneration chlorine active species. show can be employed stable energy-efficient electrocatalyst purification wastewater.
